THE USE OF FREELANCE PERSONNEL TO IMPROVE CATERING BUSINESS
Abstract
Freelancers are workers who are not bound by long-term contracts but still have strong work ties to the company. Today many companies use freelancers. Freelancers can be said to be workers who have freedom over their behavior. The policy of using freelancers in the catering business is one way to increase human resources in the catering business and to be able to provide services and meet consumer needs. The purpose of this study is to find out that freelance workers are needed to improve the catering business. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data was taken by observation and interviews, either directly or indirectly. The results of this study prove that freelancers as HR to improve the catering business from a performance perspective are quite helpful. As the required workforce, using freelancers as a catering business from a cost perspective is felt to be more efficient because it imposes long-term responsibilities. The components that must be owned by freelancers in the catering business are knowledge, productivity, attitude and motivation. Using freelance workers to improve the catering business is more profitable than using permanent workers. Because the catering business is always increasing every day, therefore freelancers are needed who are clearly very helpful for large orders. However, there are still some obstacles in using freelance workers in the catering business.
