Abstract

This literature review aims to understand the importance of soft skills for the success of graduates, methods of learning soft skills and their obstacles, alternative methods of planting soft skills. Based on the 63 articles that we obtained using the HPP (Harzing's Publish or Perish) program and Google Scholar, we concluded that soft skills have an important role in the success of graduates. There are four patterns of soft skills developments that can be carried out in tertiary institutions, namely curricular integration, co-curricular integration, extra-curricular and non-curricular. The obstacle to learning soft skills is that it is not easy to teach in the form of lectures, so that the implementation of integrated soft skills development places more emphasis on extra-curricular implementation patterns in the form of training activities accompanied by mentors.
