Abstract

Indonesia is a country with the potential for abundant natural resources with the largest population in the world rank four, and has a strategic location, as the largest archipelago in the world. The potential and wealth of natural resources, especially in energy resources that are abundant in Indonesia, should make this country have better energy security and compete with other countries in the region, but in fact it has very low capabilities compared to other countries. neighboring countries which in general do not have abundant energy resources such as Indonesia.

This study aims to examine Indonesia's national energy security based on the 4AE energy security index from the standpoint of Islamic economics using descriptive qualitative research methodology. This research is a kind of research library research which presents various kinds of information, documentation of statistical data as a source of data originating from related statistical institutions that have a correlation in the dimensions of energy security.

The results of this study concluded that Islamic economics conceptually has a distinctive and unique perspective on the 4AE energy security index (Availability, Affordability, Accessibility, Acceptability, and Efficiency). The Islamic economic concept is principally able to change and influence the technical framework in order to assess and improve the 4AE energy security index. On Availability index, Islamic economic perspective can increase some national productivity factor values from Availability indicator by reconciling energy resources owned by foreign or private parties, so that the state's right to productive energy resources can be optimally owned. The Affordability Index, can be done by setting energy prices only on national productive costs which are accumulated in aggregate so as to provide affordable and fair prices. Accessibility index by setting energy price equations nationally from the calculation of productive costs that have been accumulated in the aggregate. Acceptability index by developing technology for conversion of renewable energy. Efficiency Index by paying attention to environmental aspects both in exploration, exploitation, management, and their use for the benefit of the environment and life together.
